Michael Scofield is alive and imprisoned in the Middle East

In the past few years we’ve seen a trend in TV show revivals, from “90210” and “Gilmore Girls” to “Dallas” and “24.” During their original run, these shows were on must-watch status with many viewers, who undoubtedly are elated by their return. The latest small screen phenom to get a reboot is a personal fave, “Prison Break,” starring Wentworth Miller as Michael Scofield, a (super hot) genius engineer, who intentionally gets himself locked up in prison for the sole purpose of breaking out his brooding brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), who is on death row.

Scofield believes Burrows was falsely accused, and setup, by ‘The Company’ for the murder of the brother of the Vice President of the United States, and it’s a race against time to break his brother out of prison before he is executed. Other cast regulars expected to return include prison doctor-turned Scofield’s wife, Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies); Scofield’s prison BFF Fernando Sucre (Amaury Nolasco); and Scofield’s nemesis and Fox River resident creeper, Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell (Robert Knepper).

If you were an avid watcher if the series, you know too well how the plot unfolded. Michael was convicted and goes to Fox River Prison, where he is surrounded by a sea of criminals from murderers to rapists–even the guards were corrupt. He uses his masterfully designed full-body tattoos of the prison layout to devise his escape plan. Along the way, he reluctantly accumulates a band of cohorts dubbed as the Fox River Eight. Needless to say, some eventually end up back in prison, after all, it is called ‘Prison Break’ and the show must go on.
So, how befitting that seven years later in the series, Scofield finds himself once again imprisoned–not dead like the series finale lead us to believe. This time it’s in the Middle East. This can only mean one thing–time for a prison break! The nine-episode fifth season is scheduled to air on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST starting April 4, 2017. Until “Prison Break” returns, binge-watch the show on Netflix and check out the trailer and sneak peeks below!
