GLOBAL — In 13 days Carrie Bradshaw returns to the small screen, this time as a 16-year-old. Until the show premieres, I will have a Carrie Countdown with chic 80s-inspired trends that just might get a revival, courtesy of the show, and of course, Eric Daman. First on my list is the tutu or tulle skirt, which Carrie wears as a petticoat beneath dresses and stand alone as a skirt. Remember Madonna and her hit "Like A Virgin" (1984), when she was clad in fitted bustier and flouncy tutu? The look is now iconic. With the right pairings, like colorful cardigans and stacked bracelets, Carrie makes this look sweet and chic.
I recently spotted an ultra cute tutu on Etsy from Polish designer Daria Makarewicz-Salamon. The selection from the designer comes in more than a dozen different colors from bright yellow to deep burgundy – there's even metallic gold. This is a mirror-worthy trend I'm looking forward to. Get ready to twirl!
