While the disco era was fun, it unfortunately came with unforgettable fashion, featuring women wearing bell-bottom jumpsuits that highlighted the unmentionable parts (i.e. camel toe), polyester dresses and shiny go-go boots. Thanks to Oscar-nominated costume designer Michael Wilkinson for showing us how 1970’s fashion should really be styled. Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) sports several of Diane Von Furstenburg’s deep v-neck wrap dresses looked confidently and provocatively sexy; and what guy wouldn’t drool over Rosalyn Rosenfield’s (Jennifer Lawrence) daring and most iconic look, a Halston-inspired plunging white metallic evening gown. With 10 Oscar nominations, an all star cast, and excitingly groovy outfits, American Hustle is a definite must-see. Now if I could just erase my memory of Bradley Cooper in that tight ringlet perm and Christian Bale’s hideous comb-over!
